Dear Tymienieckiego-Gang and other EVS friends,

I would like you to know how happy I have been this year with all of you. We had really great moments.

I arrived in Poland on second of February, let’s say, totally lost. I had no idea of who I was, what I wanted to become. I just knew that I had there an opportunity to do something else than fucking looking for a job. I knew that I wanted that kind of experience for a long time. Before this EVS, my only experience about « Erasmus » was one week in Flanders. ^^ Yes, It’s still in Belgium, but you know, we don’t speak Belgian, …We are that strange country where people don’t speak the same language in the North, the South, the South-East. So going in the North was already a kind of Erasmus.

Actually, I was supposed to be a Flemish Belgian as an EVS volunteer, because my sending organisation is Flemish as well (Even if it is located in Brussels, which is mostly French-speaking area ^^). But even if there is three communities in Belgium, we are still only one people. So I could do my EVS as a French-speaking Belgian, from a Flemish organisation located in Brussels. (Belgian Power!)

You know, during my Public Relations studies, I had learned English, Flemmish Dutch, and Spanish. Then, I have try some studies of speech therapist, and I lost there my knowledge and identity. So when I arrived in Poland, I had just lost my self confidence, and I even didn’t dare to believe I still knew a bit of English. I was mixing all the time with Dutch, and even Fanny could not helped me all the time because I tried to translate into English from Flemish or from Walloon.

With you, I have grown up a lot:

Firstly, I gained a fluently speaking in English (and Polish ^^), then I took the time to discover each of you… I learned that there is not « a good way » to dress, eat, speak, work, act, love, … there is just many. And finally, « be a good girl » just means « be kind ». So, I started to copy a part of you, the one I liked in you. <3 Thanks to Francesca, I started to dress in a more feminine way, and to love this « brave new me » 😉 I learned that I should not ask, but act, and let’s see. I have learned to trust in you. 🙂 <3

It’s time for me now to go back in Belgium, I guess my future is waiting for me there… :/ :S Months ago, I was afraid to go in an international company to work; like, … I didn’t deserve it. :/ But now, this is my dream. 🙂 I would like to visit every country in the world, or at least meet many people from abroad.

Et puisque j’ai décidé de tous venir vous rendre visite, Margaux, j’espère qu’il y aura une petite place pour moi à Lyon vers … février? Qu’en dis-tu?

I would like to met you all again in your country. And to welcome you as well in the country of Chocolate and Fritky 🙂 Let me know if you want to visit me. 🙂
I love you all. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 🙂

Take care,

Cath.
